9 to 5 Review

Screen Shot 2015-11-18 at 9.52.45 PM  Still relevant and still hilarious, 9 to 5 is a great comedy that still holds up and provides us with intelligent commentary about woman, but presenting it in a very fun and unique way. Starring three great leading female protagonists who decide to confront their male boss, 9 to 5 is fun from start to finish, mixing workplace antics, misunderstood events, and genuine emotional character moments that provide us with a good movie that we can still enjoy today. Sure, it looks like a product of its time confronting ideas of its time, its clear in the hair, its clear in clothes, but even though it looks antiquated, 9 to 5’s message about female empowerment in the workplace is still one very relevant to today’s society, obviously its taken to drastic measures here and please don’t kidnap your boss, but the idea of the perfect system is still one we must achieve. That being said, 9 to 5 provides you with a bunch of hysterical moments, great comedic performances, especially Dabney Coleman who plays the boss, is still relevant, and doesn’t feel that dated, leaving me to rank it at a 80 out of 100.
