David Fincher’s latest is an awesome, performance based thriller, and also a really awkward movie experience for me. Anyways, disregarding that odd occurrence at the movies I had, Gone Girl is brilliant,a great, dark, unexpectedly funny film by Fincher. Everyone in this film is great, Ben Affleck plays his role perfectly as a normal guy whose life unexpectedly implodes, and then Rosamund Pike delivers an Oscar-worthy performance, Fincher somehow gets a really good performance from Tyler Perry, but then Neil Patrick Harris is somewhat over the top with his performance which sort of devalues the film. As many Fincher films, Gone Girl is another twisty, unexpected film, which is why I won’t go into detail about the storyline. I really want to talk about the film I don’t want to give anything away, so I must conclude my review by saying Gone Girl is an awesome Fincher film with satirical commentary over social media (which adds levity to the film), a dark, incredible tale with great performances, a great book adaptation, which I shall rate at an 85 out of 100.
